The Royal Wedding

Well the wait is over and the future king of England is now married to his princess. I did get up and watch the whole thing. It was a very beautiful wedding. Not over done, and you could tell the couple loved eachother. for those of you who did not see it, but would at least like to look at some pictures. here's a link.

There will be more as the day goes on. It was a very beautiful wedding. The whole wedding was kept simple and elegant. So let's go through some highlights.

* One of the highlights of Royal weddings are the hats that the women wear. I have to ask though; how in the world are they able to keep their heads straight and walk properly with a hat that is tall and large. It is tradition however and not all women wore a hat, some decided on a head piece. Another tradition is that women wear long sleeves, no strapless dresses and no spagetti straps, or halter tops.

* The groom actually wore red and looked like the handsome future king he is. He really complmented Kate's dress. Which was amazing. Very simple with lace detailing and a chapel train that flowed behind her. She had a sweetheart neckline and lace sleeves.

* The Queen wore yellow! =)
* The couple also added something new to tradtion. They kissed twice on the balcony of Buckingham Palace. What was really cute was that the prince blushed slightly. =)

* I have to comend Kate. She looked regal. You would never would have guessed that she was a commoner. You could tell she was born for the role that she is now taken place in, as Her Royal Highness. She smiled from ear to ear, and waved to the crowd.

* Instead of gifts the royal couple are having guests contribute to some of their favorite charities. =)

I'm inserting a link to Flickr with some pictures of the wedding.

These are actually better pictures from today's event. =) Want to know more cheack out The Royal Wedding site here

The Knot

So I saw this awesome uh picture and quite frankly it was scary. It was of godzilla in a veil. My first thought was " Now that's distrubing.." Then I thought about the scene in 27 Dresses where Tess said, " Alert traffic control, cause bridezilla is on the loose!" The fact of the matter is., no bride has to be a bridezilla. In fact, as long as you have friends and family, make them pitch in, to avoid turning into a bridezilla. Now I want to be your friend and give you a gift. A gift dear to my heart in fact, the gift of the link that will make your wedding planning easier, on you. I love The Knot. You can find everything on The Knot.As soon as I get the money, I myself will subscribe to it. For now I am a fan on Facebook and I cheack the site occassionally. Want to know what's hot this season, The Knot is your go-to guide.

There are also some fun quizzes to take. =)

~~~~~~~~~~~~ Now for an update~~~~~~~~~~~
I am still looking for that very much needed job. Though while looking, I'm getting into a better habit of staying on top of wedding trends. As a wedding planner that is pretty important don't you think? I guess that's the only thing I can do right now. =)
Planning, planning and more planning
Ah! Most brides are not prepared for everything that needs to be done to plan a wedding. In fact, some have no clue and go into the planning blind with this thought in mind " Oh I can handle it.." well maybe you can handle certain parts then you stress out because you have to much to do, and then you feel like your forgetting something.. don't worry because your new best friend has a list for you!!! I'm going to take the next blog posts and dedicate them to the list, then when you and I have walked through the list together I'll write it out for you. So you can avoid looking like this girl below....
Yes my dear friends i do not want you biting your poor electronic devices out of frustration, especially when you can't afford a wedding planner. So Let's begin!
ANNOUNCE YOUR ENGAGEMENT-SET A DATE ,WHOSE IN YOUR WEDDING PARTY,VENUE, GUESTS,WEDDING DRESS
These are some of you first jobs as bride-to-be.
1. Announce your engagement:
Whether you do it through Facebook, or calling up everybody, share your excitement! Plus people may know vendors and make suggestions!!!
2. Set a Date:
Before you do anything, it might be in your best interest to have a date for the big day. That way it keeps you on track and that is your deadline. When you go to vendors, they are going to ask. Keep Venue in mind.
3. Wedding Party:
Who do you want to stand next you on your big day? How many do you want to stand next to you?
4. The Venue:
Where are you having the ceremony and where are you having a reception? This will help you figure out how many guests, your dress, and decorations. If your having an outdoor wedding, keep a close eye on weather conditions.
5. Guests:
Who do you want there to share your big day?How many guests? Once you have written out, discussed who's coming, with your fiance and parents of both, then you can send Save The Date cards to your guests. =) Get em' excited!! and plan around your wedding date. =)
6. The Dress:
The past two blog posts have been about wedding dresses. Here's links to my favorite salons and designers...
