Day 2 of the new blog!
I am continueing the dress disscussion.
Picking out a dress for your big day is a difficult and wonderful experience that is meant to be shared. If you watch Say Yes To The Dress, you have seen the amount of people brides bring with them. Here's the thing. It's not always a good idea to take a large number of people with you to the Bridal Salon to pick out your dress. In fact it's encourged. Why? Because so many people means so many opinons and so many opions will turn a memorable day into a stressful day. Here's my advice.
1. Bring people who know you best.
bring the people who know you best and knows what you are looking for and what your tastes are and will encourage you. Bringing a large crowd can garentee at least two people who will want you in something they can see you in.
2.The number of people.
Bring at the most 5 close people with you. You'll still have that group feeling but with people who will help you look for the dress of your dreams, give you advice. Just tell everybody else that you'll show them the dress as a surprise. gives them something to look forward to.
3.Who to bring?
Here's my list.
(1) Mom. Mom's know their little girls better then your best friend. She's raised you and knows what you like. Even she wants to see her baby girl in a big ball gown, but you want a mermaid style. She'll be happy with whatever makes you happy.
(2) Grandma. She's another woman who has been in your life since day one.
(3) Sisters. Sisters are your built in friends. They know you best.
(4) Maid/Matron of honor. There's a reason why you chose this girl to stand next to you in the honor spot of your wedding. She's helping you out,but she can also give you an ear when everybody is telling you their opinions.
4. Stay true to your style! Even if you take a whole bunch of people, don't let others sway to their way of thinking. Your the one wearing the dress not them.
Here's another tip for you; know ahead of time what you are looking for. Look at different dresses and take note of everything that catches your eye such as style, and beading or lace. Different fabrics. It will make the dress hunting easier not just for you but for bridal salons, because they have ideas to go with and will be able to help you find that perfect dress. =)

In the Sea of White
So you have come to this blog and are wondering what the purpose of this blog is. Well there are many answers to this question but the answer that sums it all up is that I want to share with you the reader about the journey I am taking in my life right now. This is a journey to where I feel God is calling me to and I want to encourage future wedding planners like myself, and keep my family and friends who read this updated with what I am doing in taking these steps.
Why wedding planning?
I love the idea of helping some one's dream wedding a reality. Planning a wedding can be stressful, and I want to help women who are planning their weddings to have a stress free experience.
So with that said let's begin!
So I have been studying up on dresses and the different silhouettes. I am in love with the ball gowns! I mean they are everything I want in a wedding dress! Now along with the different styles of dresses are the different ways to buy a dress.
1. There are brides who buy their dresses on EBay. I kid you not! Sure you can get a real good deal, but sometimes the dress is not what it was advertised. it may look stunning online, but you could end up with a dress with rips, sweat stains, yellowing fabric. Gross. plus to fix the problems you'll be spending more money. I advise going to a salon, you can actually try on dresses, and if your buying a used dress, make sure that it's in good condition.
2. Some girls like vintage. This is fine and great to, but again if your buying the real deal, you have to do a check, and start shopping earlier then you would for a new dress, so that any alterations can be done and have the time to do them.
3. Some girls have custom made dresses. I recently read about a bride who had the skirt made out of a WWII parachute, the top made out of a vintage kimono and wore a slip from the 1890's.... talk about interesting.
3. BLOWOUT SALES!!!!!! Some girls like competition and make finding their dresses one at sample sales...
4. They Rent. Again you have to check the dresses.
There are so many ways to get the perfect dress for you! I love it.The dress is pretty much one of the first things a bride purchase.
Another trend is buying two dresses. One for the ceremony and one for the reception. Now while I may be a "one dress" kinda girl, I am not opposed to two dresses. I think that if you want a big poof dress for the ceremony but you can't dance, a second dress may be what your looking for. If you can't afford a second dress nor have any desire to buy one, go with a dress that you love! Besides it'll be one price and the money you spend on a second dress can be put to better use.
Now that I have talked about wedding dressed, I want to share how the wedding planning is coming. I have a school picked out, but I am currently looking for a job to be able to pay the tuition. I am really learning to put everything into God's hands. I do have to be honest, it's hard!!!! I know that the wait will be worth it, yet I really want to jump in and just become a wedding planner. Yet there are so many things that I need to learn! With me looking for a job I have the chance to learn! I would really like to work in a bridal salon. But at the moment I will take any job that pays tuition and any other bills that I'll be paying.
Prayer focus~ Please pray that i find a job!
I want to thank you so much for reading my new blog! Thanks! If you have any questions about me or even any questions about what I posted here, leave your comments! I would love to answer them! I hope you all have a blessed day!
