Merry Christmas!

The year 2011 is coming to a close, can you believe that we are at the end of the year already? It's like I blinked and the end of the year is here.

With the year coming to a close and with today being Christmas, I think that this coming week would be a great time to reflect on everything that this year has brought. my plan is to start it tomorrow morning and I will take each day ( hopefully) to reflect on one blessing this year that god has blessed me with! stay tuned! Merry Christmas everybody, and for those who don't celebrate Christmas, Happy Holidays!

The Begining

All around it's obvious what season is upon us; Christmas! There have been Christmas decorations out since Halloween.Although now that the month of December is really only a matter of day's away,I am very excited. I am ready for the music, the decorations, the cookies and pies, and the presents!

Life is full of surprises. I went from being curious about life and what the future holds, to watching it unfold in front of me. Remember those day's when you were 6 and the idea of becoming an adult seemed so far away? All those dreams looked so far away, that in the mind of a 6 year old, it felt like it was never going to happen. Then that 6 year old blinked, and now adulthood is here. I couldn't wait to grow up. Now I have heard that being grown up isn't all it's cracked up to be. To an extent that is true. I have to work, and pay for things. There are times where it's stressful and you would love nothing better then to go back to being 6 years old again and not have a care in the world. The silly thing about it is that we would go right back to wishing we were adults if we really could go back to being 6 year old.
It's kind of odd to think that I am more then half way done being 20! Yet as the year 2011 comes to a close, this time a year is great time to look back and see how far you come and where you are now. There's something about Christmas that makes me really look at where I have been and then prepare myself for the new adventure that the new year will bring my way. In alot of ways i already have a glimpse of that new year. Yet even as I am writing this it's all new and exciting at the same time. This is the part where I would normally say that it's also a scary and nervous time as well, but there is a verse in Hebrews that takes the scary and nervous part out.

" God had planned something better for us so that only together with us would they be made perfect." Hebrews 11:40

Knowing that God has everything planned out and ready is a comfort. sadly however my sinful nature does seem to come into play when it comes to the future. Though as I am looking into the future from what i can see. I really see God's hand in everything. It can be frustrating when it feels that no body understands where you are coming from though. I really wish that i could just let people have an inside view of my heart and let them see that I really know what I'm doing. I'm not rushing, I'm not going to slow. When i see where and how things in my life had played out and how much God is in it. It does make sense to me. yeah it is nice to have people understand, but some day they'll see it for them selves. I just have to keep moving forward and not get freaked when there is no one that understands what I see.

It's all going to make sense within time. =)

Don't you love mystery??

What Is This????? =0

So lately I have been quiet honestly freaked out by the way my life is falling into place... I find this funny because if I remember correctly, I wanted answers, and I got them alright, and my face looks like this...

I'm not joking. Then I have to stop and think. Really Lord???? Is this really how it's going to be??? Sometimes I am satisfied. Even joyful about what's in front of me. Then there is the other that I stare at and think no way. Why do we do that to ourselves?? I mean if it's meant to be it's meant to be! I am so guilty of doing this! I am such a worrywart i guess. It's so sad. The message yesterday in church was about DO NOT WORRY. I know that this was totally me. So this is what I am going to do. I am going to seek God, with everything. If I feel that i have answers look into scripture and trust that God knows best for me. Wanna join me????

Who am I???

There I was standing with my first bride of the day, and she was wearing a dress she never thought she'd love. She was looking in the mirror and running her hand along the lace gown. You see lace was the last thing she wanted. She thought she wanted ruffles and even alittle bit of bling. Yet here she was staring at herself, in this gown, and she looked radiant. She turns around to face her family and friends who were equally shocked. She just looked at them as the gave her their comments,and she looks at them smiles and jokes with them, " who am I?".

Don't we all have moments where we ask our selves that very question, but on a serious note? I was asking myself this morning this very question. Why would God send His son to die for me? I mean really I am so not worthy of that kind of love and devotion from someone as perfect as He is. It's quite a thought.

Life's Plans and Then Real Life

I am a dreamer. Always have been always will. The funny thing about dreams is that there are dreams that come true, and for some reason there are dreams that don't ( Good thing at times huh?). The verses from Ecclesiastes 3:1-8 (NIV)

" There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under heaven:
a time to be born and a time to die, a time to plant and a time to uproot, a time to kill and a time to heal, a time to tear down and a time to build, a time to weep and a time to laugh, a time to mourn and a time dance, a time to scatter stones and a time to gather them, a time to embrace and a time to refrain, a time to search and a time to give up, a time to keep and a time to throw away, a time to tear and a time to mend, a time to be silent and a time to speak, a time to love and a time to hate, a time for war and a time for peace."

The other funny thing about dreams is what they can do to your mind! I am going to proceed to show you what i mean. I love Pinterest! The thing about Pinterest is that being on there triggers alot of my day dreaming.. here's why my friends:

Dear Future Husband,
I pretty much have our entire lives planned out on Pinterest. I hope you agree... Love, Me.

Dear Future Husband,
So I think that when you and I meet, it'll be pretty awesome. I mean I'm awesome and that means you are too... So here's our wedding for you...

I think this guy was smart to hire a photographer....I would "never know" ;) this is THE perfect proposal!!

The point in showing you this is that well I will be having Starbucks on my wedding day, and thought you should know...

I am a traditional girl of some sort, and no I don't think I'll let you see me in my dress before the ceremony, but i like cute pictures you see, and well I think this is a good idea, a moment we can share and keeping with tradition. Smart huh??

I shouldn't need to describe this picture.... I think you know where I am going with this... i hope your moved.... Of course we are traditional.

This my dear future husband will be the end result of our big day!! Love, Me.

Dear Future Husband,
So i looked at home decor today and I got a great idea!! I'd like to show you my "big" plans for our house!!!

This is our entry. Enough said.

Cute idea huh??? Our stairs shall become my other DIY project... I just might get you involved...

This is my dream kitchen!!!!!

What can I say, i love bonfires and i would like to have a bonfire and be classy at the same time!!!

This is where I shall hide!!!

I hope you like our house future hubby, because i do! Love, me.

The problem with these "set ideas, is that well reality, my house will probably never be on the cover of Good Housekeeping. If your anything like me, remember that God has His plans for you and that they will happen within His timing, not yours!! This is a lesson that we are taught everyday! Enjoy your dreams, some just might come true. Live life everyday for God my friends, and wait for His timing, because the plans He has for you, are so much better then the plans you plan yourself!

I hope you were encouraged!

Exodus 19:5-6 Now if you obey me fully and keep my covenant,then out of all the nations you will be my treasured possession. Although the whole earth is mine, you will be for me a kingdom of priests and a holy nation.

Can you just imagine the King of the universe, coming down to earth to die for the sinners He wants to call His treasures?? Last night i was hoping to spend some time in the Word, but as I was glancing through book titles for a study guide, my gaze fell to one book title. A Place of Quiet Rest by Nancy Leigh DeMoss. Now as i saw this book, a sudden thought hit me, I want a more intimate quiet time with my Savior. not just a few minuets out of my day but something more! Something that would change the way I view my quiet time. Treasuring every second with the Lord as I can, soaking up every Word that is in the Bible. It's a privilege to spend time with Him! When I saw this book, and read the back I realized this was an area that needed refining and this book seems to be the guide I need to help me get started!

It would make sense to want to spend time with the Lord because HE moved the barrier that kept us separated from Him! He treasures me and I should treasure the quiet times we share together!!

Hello Fall

So fall has officially made it's presence known. I love fall,all the colors and pumpkins, warm boots and cute sweaters. There is one thing about fall i am not a fan of< the cold. Wouldn't it be fun if we could keep the warm weather that we had and the lovely colored leaves?? I wouldn't be hurt if the high 70's stayed for alittle while longer!

Well I went and did it, I blinked and October is here! This year has just flown by! On the first of October I got to do a lovely wedding! Great start to a new month!

Now I have a complaint.. I think that it's a legit complaint, that I should put for the whole world to hear! WHY DO WEDDING GOWN MODELS HUNCH OVER???? It is so hard to get people to try on gowns because they can't get the model out of their heads. They see it, and think Ewwww I don't want to wear that! Then they try it and see that oh wow this dress is actually stunning.... hmmmmm. It is the truth hunched over models do not do dresses justice. I could go on and on about this topic, but I don't that is wise......

Moving on.....

I finished reading the book of Ruth the other day. I am always amazed by this woman in the Bible. She left everything behind to start a new life in a strange land with her mother in law. Then she was blessed with a husband, and some very very famous grandkids!

Sadly friends this is all I have time to blog today. I hope to have one long blog post soon! So make sure your coffee mugs are ready!

The Best Love Story Ever Written.

Come November 17th I get celebrate my spiritual birthday! On this day I met my best friend, my King, my Father, my Savior; and that night he stole my heart and decided to make it His. That was the night that I found what I was looking for! I couldn't wait to share this with you cause come Nov. 17th will mark 6 years of being Jesus' and I say we should have a birthday party!!!

November 16th-18th I went to Ocean City MD for a conference.The hotel I was staying at had the ocean as my backyard. For the actual conference I was at the convention center. Now on the 17 I was listening to the speaker talk about God. Now I grew up in the church, so you would think that I would know most of what He was talking about. Well before then, my heart was hardened towards the Word. Now all of a sudden I felt all the walls that I built around my heart just break down, it was like Jesus was the wreaking ball and just busting through! I was getting nervous cause I felt like this guy was talking about me. It was like he was looking right at me, and talking about every flaw I had. It made me uncomfortable. Yet I was spellbound.When he suddenly invited people up to pray and ask Jesus into their lives i was faced with two options. 1. I could walk right out of this door the way I came in and go on feeling miserable and alone. or 2. I can go up and go out the door as a new person. Well my heart made up it's mind, and I firmly believe it was God, but I shot up and almost ran towards the front! I actually did a speed walk. I was shaking and nervous, but as I prayed that precious prayer and I felt something in me change, it was worth it! I felt like brand new! Jesus had made my Heart His home. I finally opened the gate to my heart spread out the welcome mat and let Him in. Then when he came in he proceeded to open up curtains and bring joy and light into my life. I have never regretted choosing to go up there! Then when I got baptized I was filled with even more joy, I didn't think that was possible but my friend it is possible!

There is a video that I want to share with you. It's not just my story but others as well.
FYI: TURN OFF THE PLAYER ON YOUR RIGHT TO WATCH THIS VIDEO!

http://youtu.be/IbTK-mKxrAc

If you see the picture above it Say's God-Lovers, are you a Forever God-Lover? Or are you just going through the motions? Think about it. Cause this really is an important question. I can't tell you how amazing it is to have a friend that never let's me down. I take Him for granted at times.

While I am talking about friendship, I want to share with you something else. It is so important to have God-Lover friends! I am so blessed by my own God-Lover friends! To fellowship through phone conversations, text messages and talking in person, it is so refreshing and encouraging! I had a friend text me last night about how amazing God is! Jesus is the glue that holds FF's together! because with God-Lover friends, friendship is truly forever! =)

Now for a fashion update ( lol) Enzoani ( my favorite dress designer) his new dress line is coming in a couple of weeks for a trunk show! I booked the show, and I pray and hope all of those beautiful brides coming in to try on the most beautiful dresses ever! God knew what he was doing when He created Enzoani!!!

So I have blogged alot my friends! But With God's love you can never blog enough!!!

God Bless!

Back to The Basics

I woke up this morning to a gloomy day.I was kinda of feeling gloomy already. Last night I couldn't sleep at all. My mind was pulling me in every direction and it was robbing me of the restful night's sleep I was hoping for. I was laying there just conteplating everything that wasn't quite right, what i felt should be improved and everything else that could possibly feel in the gaps. A true reciepe for worry. So I went straight for the coffee pot this morning and grabbed my Bible to be reminded(again) what Jesus said about worring. Like Do not worry about anything! Then I asked myself; Why is it so hard to trust in my Savior to pull me out everytime I get stuck? I mean he plays Prince Charming to my damsel in distress pretty much 24 hours a day, 365 day's a year. I am lost and hopless without Him to swoop in and save me from everything! With that being said, I still have problems with just letting it go. You know que sera sera? Whatever will be will be? Well thank God he loves me enough to put up with me! Cause I feel so refreshed that i know that God is in the driver seat!

On a different note, I want to share with you a discovery I made. if you have never heard of this site before it's a cute little site that offers invites at a sweet price! it's called Tiny Prints.They have great ideas, for Save The Date's as well as Wedding invites! Check it out!

The Fall wedding season is coming towards the home stretch! It hasn't been too busy, but it's been fun seeing some familiar faces coming back in to pick up their dresses!

That's all I have to post this morning! i hope to get pictures of the Swan harbor Show as soon as I can!

What Is Love?

So I was thinking about this question the other day. I was reading this cute little book called Love Is by Kim Grove. Really all it is different phrases about what love is. These cute little phrases made me laugh and even made me ponder it.

Here are some of my favorites....

1.Love is...not expecting her to think the way you do.
2.love is...remembering you married an woman, not a machine.
3.Love is...turning down your favorite song when he's trying to sleep.
4.Love is...thanking him for being yours.
5.Love is...feeling beautiful because he says you are.
6.love is...waiting by the window when he's late getting home.

I was just sitting and reading this book and I couldn't put it down! next thing I know I am up on clouds and day-dreaming away!

Have you ever just let your self go and just day dream before? I mean I do it so often it may as well be a hobby of mine!

You may be returning to my site and see that I have a new name. You may be wondering why. Well here's why. You see that name at the top? Well that is what i am. i am the daughter of the King. This is something that i shall always be for eternity. So will i still talk about weddings? yes. but i want to be more upfront about who i am, weddings are a hobby the don't make up my life. last i checked I checked a wedding dress did not die on the cross for my sins. I want my blog to be more then weddings. because sooner or later i will retire lol (scary thought) for me love is Jesus dieing for my sins. Here's an illustration.

I love to dance. All different types of dancing. A waltz is difficult yet it's beautiful, yet it needs a leader. One can not waltz by herself. Well right now, till the Lord allows someone to cut in, I am dancing with my Lord and Savior. he doesn't step on my toes ( let's be honest...He's a better dancer then I) yet as I dance I stumble and I fall, yet he helps me up and we just keep dancing. he twirls me around the garden of my heart as though i never tripped over my own feet! He is THE leader. He is the reason i can dance, and the song in my heart!

This is real love.The example of I do, and the keeping that promise. =)

A "Bright" Idea

Google is alot of fun.In particular when you are an intern wedding planner. In fact I have a habit of finding some of the most interesting ideas, because I tend to get inspired, by the little things. I was on Twitter when I saw a familiar word; Light bulb. Now you may not understand why the word light bulb stood out to me on Twitter, so let me explain. The band Anthem Lights likes to call their fans light bulbs, because as Christians we are to be a light in the world. Do you get it? Good. If not, we shall talk more on this. Anyway I am a light bulb and proud of it. So I got to thinking, is there anybody out there in the world who would use the common light bulb as a theme or use it as decor. Well Google answered my question, and I was surprised and amazed at what one can do with light bulbs at a wedding. Here's what my search gave me..

Take light bulbs outdoors and fill them with flowers, or anything to add something unique to your venue.

Dance under the bulbs with your sweetheart and friends and family. Maybe not quite as romantic as dancing under the stars, but at least you can see everybody! Honestly I think it's romantic...turn out all the lights and just dance.....

Afraid of glass breaking? Well nobody said you had to use real light bulbs... use light bulb shaped paper lanterns!

Continue the theme with a light bulb shaped grooms cake!

Light bulb place cards!!! Cute!

Don't stop with decor, take the theme to footwear... light up your aisle in style! That goes with the decor, Fun picture idea!

Now you know that there are fun ideas with common household items! It really gives you the best of two worlds, modern and classic. When done tastefully and creative you can pull it off! I am going to end this with a popular song that is very popular at weddings now. Have a great day all!

Honey and the Bee

I get inspired by the most random things at times. I have been wanting the Owl City CD All Things Bright and Beautiful. So when it came into the mail after i ordered it, i wasted no time to listen to it, and then proceed to put the songs I liked on to my MP3. Now I can take it, and listen to it wherever I go. I have a new favorite. Now I have always loved owl city's Vanilla Twilight. Now the title of the song is actually the title of my blog. I really couldn't come up with anything else. No the real reason was it inspired me to use the song as a theme for an outdoor wedding. Not sure exactly how I am going to go about this. But it i think it would be cute.

CONFESSION:

So I have been anticipating the fall wedding season. I am waiting and willing to be apart of my first wedding season. I think that in all honesty, i think it would be a real test of everything i know. In a way i wonder of i am ready for this big step. to answer my own question, I do believe i am ready. It should be fun.

TREND ALERT:
Green. Yes you read right, green is in.Looking through different bridal magazines the color green keeps popping up, and I have also heard of brides myself choosing the color. Green is outdoorsy and fresh. What do you think of green? There are lovely shades of green out there....

UPDATE:
I have a couple of events that i will be attending. One is personal and the other is business. The second will be announced sometime next week. the first, I will be enjoying some time with some friends, whom I feel i haven't seen in ages. It really has been ages come to think of it. The store was insanely busy yesterday, but after awhile no body was really coming in. We have had quite a few day's like that to be honest. Yet it will be interesting to see how busy the store gets the closer I get to the fall wedding season.

I'm Only Human

CONFESSION:
As much as I would like to pretend to be Wonder Woman, sadly I am not. I may have a day where I can roll up my sleeves and pull out a girls dream wedding dress, but there are day's where people cross my path and leave me with a spinning head. Today was one of those day's. Here's a low down.

In a way it was a good thing. It tested my level of stress and how far I could go without completely losing myself. BR AVA! I remained professional and suffered the headache as an aftermath.

My wedding gown appointments today were almost back to back, and so easy. Easy in comparison to the first appointment. One was going vintage the other comfort elegance.

I didn't have to deal with the other momzillia but it was ( in my opinion) not so great to complain about a small alterations problem, a problem that can be easily fixed in front of a bride-to-be. It's stressful enough as it is to be tyring to figure out your style of wedding gowns and pick one that not only set's the tone for the wedding but also looks fantastic on you as well. And using the big mirror while a bride is standing and waiting to show her mom a dress. I am sorry but my bride come first! She was there before the other woman was there, and therefore had first dibs on the mirror. That is simply my opinion on this matter. The problem is going to be fixed and the bride thankfully, was fantastic and I will be seeing her next Saturday, and hopefully she will be getting the dress of her dreams!

After all the drama I experienced today, some stressful moments. I look back and I ask myself the question,; Do I still love my job?? The answer is Yes. I love my job. I love making a girls dream come true and being able to see her just glow in the dress that is meant for her. My brides are fantastic! I love them! At the end of the day, i still feel passionate about my job. It can be stressful and full of drama, but in the end result is worth the time and energy I put into each appointment.

I have had moments that do make me stressful but it's one of those things that I realize that it's because i am carrying the load all by myself.....again! I know that I have Someone willing to help me by taking my extra baggage and pull me out of the muck. I try to convince myself that I am okay with the load, but it's a lie I tell myself. Do you tell yourself the same thing? It's so easy to tell ourselves that we can handle whatever that comes our way, and maybe for alittle while we can. But in the end we find out that we can't. Not really, and most deff, not by ourselves! Think about it for a moment. This doesn't just apply to weddings but also to our entire lives!

I just had to share with you what has been going on. =) I am getting closer to my dream, and that requires refining me, like you refine gold! I'm not perfect, and I'm never going to be in this life! and you know what? That is okay. =) I am fine and I still have alot to learn. I know this, and to the challenge i say, Bring it on!

A nod to the Classics

This morning I woke up and felt like I wanted to be transported to a different time period. Ever have a morning like that? My favorite points in American history are also my favorite time periods concerning fashion as well. In particular I love the 30's, 40's and to a point ( fashion wise) the 50's. Vintage is hot now folks! Especially those cute short dresses that became popular due to the hard times America faced. I want to take this time and show you my favorite dresses from these eras. These eras defined modern fashion, and makes itself a keepsake to be treasured today. You would be amazed at the similarities between these dresses!

Need Help???

Who doesn't need help every now and then? Let's be honest shall we? Planning a wedding can be fun, exciting and stressful. One minuet you are flashing that pretty little diamond for all to see, and the next your trying to figure out vendors and venues, what everyone will be wearing, not to mention your dress! The world feels like it's spinning you in a waltz you had no interest in dancing and the idea of eloping may be sounding as amazing as a trip to the spa. Well as much as I like to pretend to be Wonder Woman, I have really just begun to get my bag of tricks together. So let's reach in that bag and see what I have!

<3 The Knot

The Knot is amazing. They have everything you need. Their website is just as amazing. If not more so. You can go through pictures and look up venue's, and vendors and save them to your profile. Through The Knot you can make your wedding website as well. Everything can be be done on this one stop, if you prefer to just get it all done.

<3 Brides Magazine

I love this magazine! Combine with The Knot, and I feel on top of things where wedding trends are concerned. Where The Knot goes by seasons, Brides Magazine goes by seasons. trends get added to the former trends, and so on and so forth.

There are wedding planning books and blogs to read up on how to plan your wedding. I will be posting more of these books and blogs. =)

* UPDATE*

So far this month I have sold two maybe three wedding dresses. I love my brides!!! They have been so much fun to work with! Stephanie, is my Puerto Rico bride and is and will always be known to me as my first bride! Kate is my Ocean City Bride =) Their dresses are stunning! I can't wait for their dresses to come in!!!!!

I also have two weddings I will be assisting in.one this November and one next July. I can't wait to work with those brides some more!!! =)

Man. What an amazing feeling it is to be apart of someones day! =)

The Martha Stewart in Me

Do you see it??? I MADE that. How did I come to making this? Well I had a dream. I had made a belt and I suddenly opened my eyes, shot out of bed and spent about 30 minuets of my life making this. It's a belt and belts like the one above is making a statement in the bridal world. I have seen a lot of black belts on wedding dresses. Sooo what if I don't want to wear a black belt but something personal? Something that is mine and no one else has it. That's the beauty of crafts!

To make a belt like this is so simple that if I can do it you can too.

* For this one I used a blue ribbon, but you can use any color you want.
* I took a fake flower ( the kind you get at a craft store) I took three petals and sewed them together.
*the little Dollie was made by my great grandmother. I sew that to the petals
* I used one pearl-like bead and sewed that on too.

you are suppose to sew it on to the ribbon, but because my ribbon was to small ( mannequin size) I am going to save it, till I get the right size ribbon. It's got the blue, old, and it's new. Best part? It's mine!!! No body has it. Because of the personal touch with the Dollie my great grandmother made. A little piece of your history to have on your wedding day. It's special. It's simple yet you can make it as lavish as you want.

Yesterday at work, we had a pretty slow day. No body was coming in... it was creepy. But not as creepy as the random dude that came in, and asked to see Bridget. He just came in and it creeped Bridget out, it made everybody feel creeped out. He left and we haven't seen him again.

I will be doing weddings in November and next July. So I'll keep you updated on those.

I hope you all have a great day, and I hope to be posting soon! God Bless!

Changes!

I am not against change, in fact I love change! I was sitting here and was trying to find ways to make the blog just a little bit more interesting. I am wanting to do interviews about what true love is. This is all I'm going to say about this for now, but I am working on some ways to do this series. If you have ideas, I am all ears!

GOOD NEWS!!!!!

As of Saturday July 2,2011; I sold my first wedding gown!!!!! WOOT! Boy I can not begin to tell you how excited I was when I sold my first dress! I was walking on clouds. I can't wait to make more dreams come true in the coming years! I honestly believe i have the best job ever! ;) The look on the girl's face when she puts on the dress that makes her feel like the beautiful bride she is, and starts calling it her dress, is so rewarding!

So since I have been working at K&B Bridal and Event Planning, I have been amazed at how many go for the ruffles. don't take this wrong! I love the ruffles, they are pretty, but do I have the personality for them? No. Yet more and more personality dresses get sold and I am glad to see them go to the right girl. Yet, I have only seen one, very traditional bride. You know what I am talking about, The gloves,Cinderella ball gown, tiera.. those brides seem to be really rare, or at least whenever I am in the store they are.

What do you feel about the chances in bridal fashion??

Lost Blogs,Karen Kingsbury,and Cupcakes

So last night I suddenly remembered that I had another blog.... and I have neglected it. Oh well... but it's fun reading through it. Some of the things I wrote about I had completely forgotten. I wrote about, my lime green CROCS@ great reading. hahaha

So one of my favorite authors (EVER) Karen Kingsbury has been writing books about Bailey (YAY)
1. Sadly it took me forever to find the 1st book Leaving at my library. I thought I was going to cry. I went to one of my librarians, and they found it for me.
2. I have still not had the chance to go on yet another expedition to look for Learning. But I feel reluctant to return Leaving... taking it to work tomorrow, to read, and since I work at K&B Bridal and Event Planning there are packs of tissues. I may need them.
3. Even though I have no clue if Brandon or Cody claim Bailey's heart for keeps, I started planning her wedding this morning. No joke.

Bailey's wedding I can imagine would be classified in wedding books as Simple Romantic Elegance. Let's go through each one.

Simple- Meaning something not outrageous. Bailey is such a beautiful character, and her wedding would clean and tastefully done. I can't imagine Bailey with a million dollar wedding. It would look like a million, but not break the bank.

Romantic- As Bailey walks towards the guy that God hand picked for her, I can imagine the guy's mouth dropping because she looks stunning. That's romantic!

Elegance- She's beautiful and her wedding would totally reflect her!!!

Now what about her dress?????!!!!! This is where I pull up my sleeves and work magic. ;) ( That's a finale)

here are some picture ideas, for our eyes... courtesy of The Knot

ceremony-

a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgg9ZFixbyoENAHD3RX1FhzURZk7mEmLcPCfbl5TVuPpdTLWlQzPsh2HH8FavMIAeQUuRGa-XzTg5PuzzxAM9iRoQ3IKxjz9_H-aSkUZNUFs4SoX0qmijUegxC7M1XK8FZ0qEJvPYzQM7jx/

reception-

or this really cute idea! ( i couldn't resist!!)

( DRUM ROLL PLEASE!!!!!!) What I can picture Bailey wearing.

This dress is an A-Line with a few pick-ups ( for a dramatic flare Bailey dreams of Broadway) It does have a cathedral train ( think Kate Middleton's train) The bustle would be fantastic, it would fit right into the existing pick up! It would look very natural!.

So there I did some day dreaming. If your a Karen Kingsbury fan, what do you think? Got any ideas? let's here them!!!!

Now that I daydreamed a wedding, Let's talk cupcakes! Flavor Cupcakes are my new best friends! They taste soooo yummy!!!!

http://www.flavorcupcakery.com/ordering_flavor_cupcakery.html

=) If you come to Maryland and have a cupcake craving, this is where to go!

God has been so good! I was reading this morning in James about taming the tongue. It is so small yet so dangerous! Words can be so hurtful! =(

He has also been good in providing for my needs. I now have a cheaper alternative to blaze my trail towards becoming a wedding coordinator. I am a very happy princess!
I can't begin to tell you how much I love my job! The fact that I'm doing what i love is so amazing. I found a new song that made me love and be thankful to my Savior even more..

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cLiY2McIElI

I love this song!!!

I hope you all have a blessed day! God Bless my friends!

My Mission

I think we all can say that there was a time that we wish we could go back and re-do. I use to be one of them. My one moment, I have learned really set me up to be the 20 year old woman I am today. It was painful for a 14 year old to experience, but God knew something beautiful would come out of it. So now I look at that memory as an eye opener, to what God had planned.

I was a 14 year old on in middle school. Every Valentines Day, the school had this tradition where you would buy carnations for your friends, boyfriends/girlfriends, and even secret admirers. Valentines Day is kind of pointless, because I believe I am worth flowers and chocolates everyday. Yet I love the holiday ( honestly because of the colors red and pink...yes I know..) I couldn't wait to get a carnation or two! I felt I had some good friends, I hinted that I loved carnations for the weeks leading up to V-Day. Then the day was upon me and I entered homeroom with anticipation. Then the teacher started handing out the pretty flowers, and I waited for one to grace my desk. And I waited and waited and then started counting how many were left, then it suddenly hit me hard. None of those carnations are for me!!!! I tried to gather my emotions as I glance around the room and saw that I was the only one without one of those pretty flowers. A lump grew in my throat. I acted like I didn't care, but I cared, alot. My friends excuses?? They "forgot". I suddenly realized the cold hard fact that, in reality, who I thought were my friends, were not my friends at all. In fact I was friendless on Valentines Day. No 14 year old should be friendless! I went home and cried my eyes out, and then cried my self to sleep.The worst Valentine's Day of my life, and I am proud to say it was my only "bad" Valentines Day, because the next year I spent Valentines Day with my best friend in the whole world, Jesus!

Yet as I'm typing this, I don't really talk about it, and I don't have any reason too. I mean I have everything I need in Jesus. I have realized that God's plan for me involved weddings. I guess my love for weddings should have been a no brain er to begin with. When I felt God tug on my heart, to help others. God's plan for that? Was to get into the wedding industry. I could have just thrown out the idea of love with that Valentines Day, and sulk about how much those "friends" hurt me. If i had done that i would have missed out on this dream that I'm living today.

Today I'm learning the ropes, of wedding gowns. I can't begin to tell you how much i love what I am doing. I can't picture my self doing anything else. My mission is to help women find their dream dresses, and eventually plan their dream weddings!

I am so blessed with the people in my life today. God took a day that I would have marked the worst day of my life, and turned it into something so beautiful that to go back and change it would be wrong.

I have been reading the story of William and Kate.... yeah let me just say that, my prince charming ( whoever he may be) will be ten times the man William was. Sad how reality pops the dream balloon. I had no idea that all those "other" girls he was with in the tabloids, he was also dating Kate. That's so sad!!!! It's so twisted!!!!

So I really don't like those really puffy dresses. Why? They try to eat me!!! I was attacked by two evil minded dresses, one minuet I was just walking to the rack to hang up the "lovely" dress when all of a sudden I was surrounded by tulle! It scared me and it tried to take me in to the rack with it. Well I won, and walked away out of breathe. I under estimated the big ball gown, NEVER AGAIN!!!!!!. One of the two dresses got sold and now I have one dress to worry about. Next time I will divide and conquer!!

So that's all I have for today. i have work on Saturday, so I'll let you know how the "evil dress" is doing. ;)

Then She Said YES TO THE DRESS!!!

So as I learn more about dresses, which I have learned a lot!!! I fall more in love with my job! Here's some highlights.

1. I learned that the true ball gown is not in my future.... in fact I got swallowed up by two of these dresses. A game in which they won.

2. I saw a bride take one of these "cup-cake" dresses... I was happy to have one less dress to swallow me up.

3. When a bride cries because they find their dress, I cry along with them. I am not ashamed of admitting this.

4. I realized the my dream wedding colors are not sophisticated enough for me, so they are now Strawberry pink and Chocolate. =)

5. I can't stand it when mothers bash their daughters, by telling them they look like old maids... enough said.

I firmly believe that I have one of the best jobs in the world. I get to help people find their dream dress! When God revealed to me this was the direction to go in, I can't believe how much joy I find in doing something that helps others! God has blessed me! I can't picture my self doing anything else. =) What a joy it is to serve God!

Handing Over My Planning Pen

I finally gave my blog a different look. Well at least a start.

Have you ever been lost in dream land; in the middle of the day? It happened to me yesterday. It happens alot. you start listening to music and then your carried away on some big cloud and you have no clue that your phone is not only ringing, but vibrating in your pocket. It happened to me yesterday. A friend was calling me back and I was gone on an adventure. I felt really bad.... I mean i have been trying to get together with this friend. I did call her back and apologized, but I still feel bad. Yet as I'm writing this I can't but wonder how wonderful it would be to get THAT lost in thought about God. I mean He's the reason I'm alive and posting this today. He's my Planner. He knows far more then me and yet I still like to grab the pen and start writing! I'm alot like Martha ( Luke 10:38). I get so wrapped up in making sure my life is at it's best. Perfectionist at heart. I long to be like Mary, and just stop and drop everything and listen to that still quiet voice that directs my path. God's the Author of my life, and what a better way to proclaim that then here where I share my heart with you, the reader.

I want to take this moment and share with you an organization that's dear to my heart. Wedding Dresses for Tornado Victims. This organization is to help tornado victims get their wedding dresses. These women have been through alot and to have their wedding dresses destroyed, that's sad. If you have a wedding dress that you don't know what do with please consider donating it to brides who need them!

You can get more info on Facebook

Or on their blog at

if you can't see the links or can't get to them let me know!

I'm still waiting for a call about the job. I will let you all know what happens. =) Gob Bless!

Wednesday, June 1, 2011

Normally I'm giving you my opinions, and I have been posting some trends. So you may be wondering what is up with me the writer. I have been busy ( Surprise since I am still waiting for a job) but I have been doing alot. So I have looked at my blog, and I want to give it a make-over. What I really want to do, is a mystery, so if you come read my blog and it's different, you have been warned! I have also made a Facebook page. For my fans.. well it's alot easier to update everyone through facebook, let's be honest.

I have however got into a bad habit. Going on Facebook, and opening another tab, and I'm on The Knot. Bad I know, especially if people are wanting to to talk and I'm sitting here drooling over the new bridal dresses and centerpieces. It's sad.

I have a job opportunity, I have pretty much kept it under wraps in case it doesn't work out. I'm praying really hard it does because it would mean I get to do what I love to do, WEDDINGS!!!! So I will keep you posted.

I got into a Jaws discussion, more like I was correcting people as they were talking about the movie Jaws. For the record though I saw it once and once was enough for me, but I will not let a robot man-eating shark keep me from the beach. I'm really not into horror movies. I can watch war movies, they make me cry.

I have also found some new music, music that I have been playing while doing some planning. I was on Karen Kingsbury's facebook page when i discovered these guy's.
Naturally I check the group out and loved them! If I say i love a group as much as hawk Nelson, you know they are good. if you'd like to check them out their called Anthem lights. =) Anyway they have been my "planning music" lately. So that says alot. I listen to music when I'm planning, and I normally choose christian music. the reason for this is simple. They are singing about real love. The start to all the fairy tales. The reason I have the calling I do. =) I believe God has given me a gift and I want to use it for His glory! Now that's a love story with a happily ever after.

Speaking of Fairy tales. I was asked to give a testimony during the new members luncheon. I was joining the church and I was asked. Now I hate talking in front of people, so I really went out, in fact I wrote an essay and selected what i wanted to say and save everything else as back-up. Well God just poured His grace on me and I was able to get up there and do it, perfectly, so Thank you God!

Well that was pretty much my update for now. I'll be posting soon with some new trends this month! So Happy 1st of June!!! =D God Bless!

A Wedding Like No Other

Want to know the secret to the most beautiful weddings? Well my friend that would be you! Your wedding reflects you, your groom and your love for each other. In other words, you don't have to do everything by the book. Make it personal!

A way to do this is simple, you figure it out.

I was in Wal* Mart yesterday and was reading Bride magazine and saw an article about something near and dear to my heart; colored shoes. I have my wedding pretty much planned out, and I have long since ditched plain white shoes. I mean when your picking wedding colors your picking favorite colors, well you have your dream dress, go get a pair of those pretty colored heels that you've been eyeing, because the trend is in!

A fun color that's making it's self known? Strawberry. Yes strawberry pink. I never really paid attention to the color before but seeing it on a dress, well they have me convinced that I could rock the shade. =)

Bridezilla's

If you are getting married or know someone who is, I'm sure you have heard the stories, watched the show's and see that Bridezilla's are famous. Famous for demanding, bratty and mean. The truth is, and I get this from experts, is that bridezilla's are really not that common. So how does one avoid being a bridezilla? Can any one avoid being a bridezilla? Well the answer to both questions is " yes". The reason most brides have these melt downs and freak out moments is stress. Weddings can be beautiful and alot of fun, but there's alot that goes into planning a wedding. Things can go wrong, things get delayed, and yeah brides can become irriated. Here's my advice:

1. Hire a planner. Planners can take care of those phone calls for you. Make sure yoou stay on top of everything, and have connections to great deals on vendors and venues.

2. Get people involved. Have mom take care of flowers. You do not have to do everything your self. If people are willing to help, LET THEM!!! Make sure that the are up to date on what you want and make sure you aprove of their choices but hey it's one less thing on your plate.

3. Monitor your self, make sure you eat right and excerise. If your stressed, take a step back and go take a nap, or do a facial mask, whatever you like to do to destress do it. Don't let it bottle up inside and explode on the night before the big day!

4. Have some plan B's. In case something happens, you can just reach into your bridal bag and pull it out like a magician. Hahaha Evil Bridal Twin!

I think that these look simple but they can go a long way. No need for insanely long list's. You know you and you know what your limits are.

If your married and avoided bridezilla mode, share what you did to avoid becomeing Bridezilla!

I am waiting on a job, so keep me in your prayers!

Bridesmaids!

So I think it's safe to say that finding yopur dream wedding dress is in some way's simple, but when it comes to finding a bridesmaids dress that works for all shapes and sizes and makes them happy. True they'll wear wear what you want them too, but bridesmaids do pay for their own dresses. Here are some popular trends.

* More and more I hearand read about brides pick a color and have their bridesmaides go and pick a dress that fit's their body shape and is something that they love. I am a huge fan of this idea because it insures that your bridesmaids are comfortable and love what their wearing.

* If your more into a more traditional, and want everybody to wear one dress, take your bridesmaids with you and let them pick a gown that they all can agree on.

* There are some brides who let the bridesmaids pick the color they want to wear. Now I am not sold on this idea because everybody won't look as put together. if it's dress styles that has you having a hard time go with option one.

Another popualr trend is to buy the bridesmaid dresses from places like j crew and Banana Republic. The dresses are affordable and can be worn to any other occasion. Which leads to another trend, most brides and bridesmaids are looking at dresses that can be worn again for any occassion. It's a good way to make the money spent worth it. you can find these dresses in Bridal shops as well.

As i predicted The Knot has way's to have the Royal Wedding and call it yours. Now i want to add that it's your wedding and every wedding is your Royal Wedding, you don't have to have a wedding just like William and Catherine's. Though it's good to get ideas. =)

I now want to take a moment and thank our military. God Bless and come home soon! Thanks for serving your country nin ways others won't!

The Royal Wedding

Well the wait is over and the future king of England is now married to his princess. I did get up and watch the whole thing. It was a very beautiful wedding. Not over done, and you could tell the couple loved eachother. for those of you who did not see it, but would at least like to look at some pictures. here's a link.

http://today.msnbc.msn.com/id/42799375/ns/today-today_people/?GT1=43001

There will be more as the day goes on. It was a very beautiful wedding. The whole wedding was kept simple and elegant. So let's go through some highlights.

* One of the highlights of Royal weddings are the hats that the women wear. I have to ask though; how in the world are they able to keep their heads straight and walk properly with a hat that is tall and large. It is tradition however and not all women wore a hat, some decided on a head piece. Another tradition is that women wear long sleeves, no strapless dresses and no spagetti straps, or halter tops.

* The groom actually wore red and looked like the handsome future king he is. He really complmented Kate's dress. Which was amazing. Very simple with lace detailing and a chapel train that flowed behind her. She had a sweetheart neckline and lace sleeves.

* The Queen wore yellow! =)
* The couple also added something new to tradtion. They kissed twice on the balcony of Buckingham Palace. What was really cute was that the prince blushed slightly. =)

* I have to comend Kate. She looked regal. You would never would have guessed that she was a commoner. You could tell she was born for the role that she is now taken place in, as Her Royal Highness. She smiled from ear to ear, and waved to the crowd.

* Instead of gifts the royal couple are having guests contribute to some of their favorite charities. =)

I'm inserting a link to Flickr with some pictures of the wedding.

These are actually better pictures from today's event. =) Want to know more cheack out The Royal Wedding site here

What a great way to start out wedding season huh? There are wedding shows here in Maryland. So wether you are a bride to be or a planner go see what's new this season! Your big day is your own Royal Wedding. Take advantage of the oppertunity and talk to vendors!! =) I hope you all have a wonderful rest of your day! Cheers to the newlyweds Prince William and Catherine!

Royal Wedding

So if your a human red-blooded girl your probably going to watch the Royal Wedding. With such excitment over the wedding of England's future king brides to be will be taking notes of every detail they can. Let's be honest,girls are royalty on their own wedding day's and they want their weddings to reflect that. So it's only natural to take notes, just know your not alone. I my self will take notes. Since I don't have cable I plan to watch the wedding on ABC. Come on 4 am!!!! I planning on going to bed early, so I can wake up on time. There should be coffee. I also plan to talk about it tomorrow. Let's be apart of history!!

Yesterday I got on and added links, but due to time I was not able to add a post. These are just some of my favorite sites. Sites that I do go on a daily basis. So cheack them out.

The Knot

So I saw this awesome uh picture and quite frankly it was scary. It was of godzilla in a veil. My first thought was " Now that's distrubing.." Then I thought about the scene in 27 Dresses where Tess said, " Alert traffic control, cause bridezilla is on the loose!" The fact of the matter is., no bride has to be a bridezilla. In fact, as long as you have friends and family, make them pitch in, to avoid turning into a bridezilla. Now I want to be your friend and give you a gift. A gift dear to my heart in fact, the gift of the link that will make your wedding planning easier, on you. I love The Knot. You can find everything on The Knot.As soon as I get the money, I myself will subscribe to it. For now I am a fan on Facebook and I cheack the site occassionally. Want to know what's hot this season, The Knot is your go-to guide.

http://www.theknot.com/

There are also some fun quizzes to take. =)

~~~~~~~~~~~~ Now for an update~~~~~~~~~~~
I am still looking for that very much needed job. Though while looking, I'm getting into a better habit of staying on top of wedding trends. As a wedding planner that is pretty important don't you think? I guess that's the only thing I can do right now. =)
Planning, planning and more planning
Ah! Most brides are not prepared for everything that needs to be done to plan a wedding. In fact, some have no clue and go into the planning blind with this thought in mind " Oh I can handle it.." well maybe you can handle certain parts then you stress out because you have to much to do, and then you feel like your forgetting something.. don't worry because your new best friend has a list for you!!! I'm going to take the next blog posts and dedicate them to the list, then when you and I have walked through the list together I'll write it out for you. So you can avoid looking like this girl below....
Yes my dear friends i do not want you biting your poor electronic devices out of frustration, especially when you can't afford a wedding planner. So Let's begin!
ANNOUNCE YOUR ENGAGEMENT-SET A DATE ,WHOSE IN YOUR WEDDING PARTY,VENUE, GUESTS,WEDDING DRESS
These are some of you first jobs as bride-to-be.
1. Announce your engagement:
Whether you do it through Facebook, or calling up everybody, share your excitement! Plus people may know vendors and make suggestions!!!
2. Set a Date:
Before you do anything, it might be in your best interest to have a date for the big day. That way it keeps you on track and that is your deadline. When you go to vendors, they are going to ask. Keep Venue in mind.
3. Wedding Party:
Who do you want to stand next you on your big day? How many do you want to stand next to you?
4. The Venue:
Where are you having the ceremony and where are you having a reception? This will help you figure out how many guests, your dress, and decorations. If your having an outdoor wedding, keep a close eye on weather conditions.
5. Guests:
Who do you want there to share your big day?How many guests? Once you have written out, discussed who's coming, with your fiance and parents of both, then you can send Save The Date cards to your guests. =) Get em' excited!! and plan around your wedding date. =)
6. The Dress:
The past two blog posts have been about wedding dresses. Here's links to my favorite salons and designers...
